INTERPRETATION SERVICES

There exist lots of situations which need the services of an interpreter, often having a diploma certifying his qualification.

1. Consecutive interpreting services in Kiev.

APRIL, a central translation & interpreting company, provides services of an interpreter:

1. For the conclusion of contracts, signing of agreements, drawing of documents with the notary.
2. For holding of business meetings, carrying on negotiations, seminars, trainings and presentations, support to delegations etc.
3. For representation in courts, registry offices, other official departments and establishments.
4. For meeting at the airport, settling in the hotel etc. The driver’s services are available upon request.
5. For calls abroad, telephone negotiations, on-line conferences etc.
6. For negations in the course of equipment assemblage, object construction etc.

If you want to order the interpreter’s services, it is recommended that you discussed the details of future negotiations and interpreting requirements with the manager 2-3 days prior to the negotiations and presented all available information on the subject of negations if possible. It can be both written materials (brochures, printed lists, site information, glossary of basic terms) and oral description of the subject of negotiations.

You can count on our help, even if you have an urgent need in the interpreter!

We will make our best efforts to provide you with an interpreter possessing the required knowledge and qualification as soon as possible. However, we are not always able to provide an interpreter “here and now”, in particular if you need an interpreter of a rare language, the subject of negotiations requires narrowly defined knowledge, the interpreter shall know several foreign languages and/or master specific terminology etc.

II. Consecutive interpreting services in Ukraine

1. We can provide an interpreter in the city where the negotiations are held. We have our representatives in all big cities of Ukraine.
2. We can provide an interpreter having all necessary documents for trips about Ukraine.

In this case the contractual prices subject to conditions of trip, interpreting requirements, schedule of work etc. are applicable.

III. Consecutive interpreting services beyond Ukraine.

If you need the consecutive interpretation services abroad, we are able to:

1. Provide an interpreter right in the city where the negotiations are held. A lot of our constant interpreters live and work abroad. We have representatives in the majority of cities of Europe and the USA as well as the partners in the translation agencies in many countries of the world. The list of countries and cities is constantly supplemented.
2. Provide an interpreter having an international passport and documents certifying his/her qualification for a trip abroad.

In this case the contractual prices subject to conditions of trip, interpreting requirements, schedule of work etc. are applicable.

IV. Simultaneous interpreting services.

Simultaneous interpretation is a specific type of interpretation when the interpreter reproduces speech simultaneously with the speaker.

It is considered to be an oracle that simultaneous interpretation is the most difficult type of translation requiring brilliant mastering of the language by the interpreter.

We ventured to disagree with this statement. In our opinion, it is a special type of translation requiring specific skills, abilities, lightning reaction, perfect diction, familiarity with the subject of speech, possessing specific terminology and the ability “to listen and speck simultaneously”.

The work of simultaneous interpreter differs from the written translation of texts as, e.g., the work of a psychotherapeutist from that of a surgeon notwithstanding the fact that they both are doctors. In this case one cannot say that some work is more complicated and requires more knowledge and/or qualification than the other.

Still, simultaneous interpretation requires additional preparation. It includes not only looking through the suggested texts of speeches and written translation of those texts, but also preparation and lease of a hall, requisite equipment etc.

That is why you should apply for the simultaneous interpretation services in advance. However eager we were, we are likely not to be able to provide you with a simultaneous interpreter 2 hours prior to the beginning of an event.
