/"Throwing your employees out"? We will pick them up! Despite a huge number of translators in the country, it was very hard find a right person to work with. The personnel problem was especially acute. And only now, at the time of crisis, we may say: we have those we want to choose!/

Crisis – hard times for all, both big companies and people.

However, as anything in the world, the crisis is two-facet. The “negative” side is very clear for all but what the “positive” side is? What does that mean?

In the context of a translation agency, this means that it has had a real opportunity to raise professional skills of its principal employees who are translators.

Before the crisis, the situation in the area of business was as follows. On the one hand, none of really good translators worked with translation agencies, they were all employed over head and ears by publishing houses, big companies, education and scientific institutions.

On the other hand, so far as learning of foreign languages in Ukraine is becoming more and more popular, many institutes, and even language courses as well, opened translator training courses, while not caring of quality of training of "those specialists".

And the situation has become weird: given the huge number of translators in the country, it was impossible to find a right person to work with. The staffing issue was very critical!

What has changed at the time of crisis? First of all, due to economic recession, the number of projects implemented by Ukrainian companies jointly with foreign partners has significantly reduced. So the amount of translations has dropped too. As a consequence, many excellent highly skilled translators have appeared on the market offering their services.

Translation agencies are now enjoying an opportunity to choose among the best for the first time ever.

This is the positive side of the crisis indeed: translation agencies are infusing themselves with a "new blood", getting excellent and experienced professional translators
